Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Wings
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 1 level tbsp aluminium-free baking powder
- ½ tsp table salt
- ½ tsp pepper
Garlic Parmesan Sauce
- 90 g unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 50 g finely grated parmesan (about ½ cup)
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- ¼ tsp table salt (optional)
- ¼ tsp pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps achieve a crispy texture when cooked.
- Coat with baking powder mixture: In a large bowl, combine the aluminium-free baking powder, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper. Toss the wings thoroughly in this mixture to ensure even coating.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 200 degrees Celsius (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit) and let it preheat for 5 minutes.
- Air fry the wings: Arrange the coated wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 35 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
- Prepare garlic parmesan sauce: While the wings cook, melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan or microwave. Add the minced garlic and cook gently until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the parmesan, dried parsley, ¼ tsp salt (if using), and ¼ tsp pepper until well combined.
- Toss wings with sauce: When wings are fully cooked and crispy, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the warm garlic parmesan sauce over the wings and toss well to coat evenly.
- Serve immediately: Serve the garlic parmesan chicken wings hot for the best taste and texture. Enjoy as party food or a flavorful snack.
Notes
- Use aluminium-free baking powder to avoid any metallic taste and ensure crispiness.
- Drying the wings well before coating improves crispiness in the air fryer.
- Parmesan can be substituted with Pecorino Romano for a sharper flavor.
- Adjust salt in the sauce to your preference, especially if your parmesan is very salty.
- You can add fresh parsley instead of dried for more vibrant color and flavor.
