Description

A simple and delicious Garlic Butter Pasta recipe featuring perfectly cooked pasta tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce with parmesan and fresh parsley, ideal for a quick and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 ounces dried pasta such as spaghetti, linguine, or any other long or short pasta

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil water in a saucepot, salt it generously like sea water, add pasta, and cook until al dente, about 10-12 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add sliced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes. Add the drained pasta along with some reserved pasta water, and toss to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce.
  3. Finish the Dish: Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and grated parmesan cheese to the skillet. Toss everything together until the butter melts and the sauce is creamy. Remove from heat, stir in chopped fresh parsley, season with salt and ground pepper to taste, toss again, and serve immediately with additional parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • The recommended portion of pasta per person is 2-3 ounces (60-85 grams).
  • Salt the boiling water generously to enhance pasta flavor, similar to seawater salinity.
  • You may not need to use all of the reserved pasta water; add gradually to achieve desired sauce consistency.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor and melting texture.
  • Adjust garlic amount to preference for milder or stronger garlic flavor.
