Description

This Garlic Butter Steak Bites recipe features tender sirloin cubes seared perfectly in a buttery garlic herb sauce, paired with flavorful sautéed baby potatoes. It’s a simple yet delicious dish perfect for a quick dinner that bursts with savory and aromatic flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Potatoes:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 lb baby red and yellow potatoes, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1/41/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, depending on taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Steak:

  • 11 1/4 lb sirloin steak, cut into one-inch cubes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep Potatoes: Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter with ½ tablespoon of olive oil. Add the cubed potatoes, minced garlic, fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, rosemary), and red pepper flakes. Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender but still firm. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Cook Steak: Discard any burnt garlic and herbs remaining in the skillet. Increase the heat to high and add the remaining ½ tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once the butter has melted and is sizzling, add the sirloin steak cubes and sear them for 4-6 minutes until browned on all sides and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Season with salt and pepper during cooking.
  3. Combine and Finish: Return the cooked potatoes to the skillet with the steak. Stir and cook together for about 1 minute until everything is heated through and flavors are combined. Serve hot immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the skillet when cooking the steak to ensure proper searing and caramelization.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your preferred spice level.
  • Fresh herbs add vibrant flavor, but dried herbs can be substituted if needed (use about one-third the amount).
  • Use a heavy-bottomed skillet or cast iron pan for best searing results.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes off the heat if you prefer juicier bites before combining with potatoes.
