Description

This Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon recipe offers a delicious balance of sticky, sweet, and garlicky flavors, making a quick and satisfying meal ready in under 20 minutes. The salmon is pan-seared and finished under the broiler for a caramelized glaze that will impress at any dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Seasoning

  • 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)

Glaze and Cooking

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare Salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels. Season evenly on both sides with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and blackening seasoning if using. Set aside to let the flavors settle.
  2. Preheat Broiler: Adjust your oven rack to the middle position to avoid burning the glaze later, then preheat the broiler to high.
  3. Make Glaze: Heat a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add butter and olive oil. Once the butter has melted, stir in minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook this mixture for about 30 seconds until it is warmed through and slightly thickened.
  4. Cook Salmon: Place the seasoned salmon skin side down (if the skin is on) in the skillet with the glaze. Cook for 3 minutes on the stovetop, frequently spooning the glaze over the top to baste and coat evenly.
  5. Broil Salmon: Transfer the skillet to the oven and broil the salmon for 5 to 6 minutes. Halfway through broiling, baste the salmon once more with the glaze to enhance caramelization. Cook until the salmon is cooked through and the glaze is nicely caramelized.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and optionally garnish with minced parsley. Serve immediately for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • This recipe comes together in just about 20 minutes, making it perfect for weeknights.
  • You can omit blackening seasoning if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • Use skin-on salmon for easier handling and additional flavor, but skinless will also work fine.
  • Basting frequently helps keep the salmon moist and infuses more flavor.
  • If you lack an oven-safe skillet, transfer the salmon and glaze to a broiler-safe dish after searing.
  • Adjust the sriracha amount depending on how spicy you like your glaze.
